Consistency is so hard.

Hi everybody! Hope you are doing great.
I have to admit that I struggled a bit with this post. 
One of the reasons for starting this blog is to improve some of the skills that I know will help me grow, but I still don't have. Consistency is one of them, so here I am. 

I aim to upload a new item to my shop each week and share a new post here. Last week I added a new listing to my shop but the week before I couldn't make it.  I was also caught up doing my taxes, which I totally underestimated and I am still working on😓😅. OMG! Being organized and avoiding distractions can be a real challenge!

I enjoy creating abstract and colorful backgrounds with quotes on top. I want to improve both, my abstract painting and typography, so I decided to combine the two in this piece.
I started painting with watercolor and pencil brushes in Adobe Fresco. I just got it and wanted to try it out. I have to say that I loved it! It feels so natural and I think the results look so nice.
While making this piece I made a rookie mistake, I couldn't believe it. I've been working digitally for more than 15 years, but I accidentally made the file on RGB instead of CMYK 🤦
What happens with that is that the colors are brighter and you have more variety in RGB than in CMYK because one is light color and the other one is pigment(that's why we use CMYK for printing). 

So I had to change each file and tweak the colors until I was satisfied with the new version.

After watching some videos and trying different color spaces, I used and recommend 'Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 12647/2:2004)'. 

I ended up liking it a lot, and I also did a couple of color variations that I really like.

My only concern is that when you change the colors on a file, the result can look digital, but after giving it a lot of thought, I came to the conclusion that that's not necessarily a bad thing. It actually added some texture that I find interesting.
Which one do you like the best? I'd love to know!

I also want to start making customizable products and I think this will be the first one! I would love to see what customers want to write on this background.

I have lots of ideas for customizable products, especially for kids since I’ve made many for my nephews that I’d like to share with other parents. 
Anyway, that's a story for another time.
