Thinking and trying AI software like Chat GPT and MIDJOURNEY
Hi! I'm Barbara
I'm a 2D artist and fashion designer on a journey to becoming an entrepreneur. I recently started an Etsy shop to develop my skills and share the process with others. In my research, I've come across AI-generated products and I have mixed feelings about them.We tend to fear change, especially when it threatens our livelihood. The controversy about new technologies is not something new.
These days, most artists are complaining about their art being used to train AI without their permission.
I understand why they feel this way - their art results from countless hours of hard work, experimentation, and self-discovery. It's a reflection of their unique perspective and artistic soul, and that takes time and effort.
However, I think AI is not going anywhere, and as an artist, I feel we can all benefit from AI.
For example, I am using Chat GPT in this post to correct any grammar mistakes and SEO optimization.
I'm thrilled about the possibilities that AI can bring to the creative process. Think about all the times you've had an exciting idea but lacked the skills or time to bring it to life. What if you could execute your ideas quickly and easily? With AI, you have access to a wealth of information from across the world and throughout history, as well as powerful tools to help you bring your visions to life. WTF! It really is amazing.
The challenge, of course, is how to use AI without feeling guilty or ashamed. My take? Use it as a starting point, but intervene, mix, and retouch the results. Make it your own and add your unique touch to it.
I think that in many cases, you will have to retouch the Ai art anyways because the results are not perfect... Like this cute dog that has its tongue coming from the neck π€£
As an artist, creator, and seller of downloadable digital art, it's important for me to experiment and bring my ideas to life. I think I'll be trying this out soon. I will let you know how it goes.
Embrace technology and try to use it wisely, I guess. This is what I'm thinking these days... We'll see next week, I change my mind a lot, haha.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you! See you next week!
Cheers, Barbara
